Council Members

Lindsay McPhee

Lindsay McPhee, Community coordinator

Lindsay joined council in March 2019 as Secretary, and then jumped at the chance to get more involved by stepping into the Programs Chair role after that. She's motivated by the vision to provide Ottawa people with intellectual disabilities increased levels of self-esteem, self-worth and social inclusion through their involvement with Special Olympics Ottawa.

Lise Lebeau

Lise Lebeau, Athlete Registrar

Lise has been with Special Olympics - Greater Ottawa for approximately 16 years. She has worked in the following positions over the years: Assistant Coach, Head Coach as well as Team Manager assisting special needs children from various ages. She helps them have fun and enjoy the program they have chosen. She has also participated at 5 provincial games; in Kingston, Peel, Ottawa, Toronto and Peterborough one national game in Thunder Bay.
For three years, Lise volunteered as council Secretariat and then took on the role of Athlete Registrar. In this role she registers all athletes to different programs and helps update the portal.

Dwight Rudisuela, School Liaison

Dwight’s son has been involved with SOO as an athlete in both the basketball and softball programs. He decided to get involved when he was made aware the organization was looking to fill the School Liaison position

Laurinda Ferreira

Laurinda Ferreira, Secretary

Laurinda is a University of Ottawa alumna from the public relations program and is currently working in information management as a data and policy analyst. She first started with Special Olympics Greater Ottawa Area during her time in university while volunteering through her sorority, Kappa Beta Gamma. She began her tenure on the council in April of 2018 and has volunteered at various qualifying events. Her favourite sport is soccer and enjoys volunteering at qualifier events. Outside of SOOGO, she enjoys spending her time creating handmade needleworks, drawing and photography and watching films.


Bryn Johnson, Volunteer Lead

Looking for an opportunity to share some of my experience in the Volunteer Management field, Bryn joined SOO GO in 2019. He has worked in the not for profit sector for many years and is an advocate for volunteerism and the part it plays in building stronger communities.
He is also passionate about sports and can often be found on a court; in an arena or field; or at the golf course most weekends.

After retiring, Adam knew that he wanted to give back to the Ottawa community by volunteering.  The facility coordinator position at SOO was vacant so he submitted my name and, after an interview over coffee, was accepted into the position.

Anna Sadler, Volunteer Coordinator

Having worked in the disability sector for almost a decade, Anna was excited to join SOO GO in 2020 as a Volunteer Coordinator where she could combine her professional experience with her love for sport and help to further SOO’s mission of enriching the lives of Ontarians with an intellectual disability through sport.
